The online course on Evidence and Research in Rectal cancer is a basic multidisciplinary training course in oncology: it is aimed at junior surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists wanting to improve their knowledge on the multidisciplinary treatment of rectal cancer or more senior specialists wanting to refresh their knowledge in this field.
The EAGLE course on rectal cancer offers a case based approach to learn about the advantages of the multidisciplinary, integrated treatment of rectal cancer (evidence) and about ongoing and future research in rectal cancer. The cases include patients that have different stages of rectal cancer which should allow you to learn how to tailor the treatment for each individual patient
Each case consists of 3 parts:
1) image interpretation and staging
2) different treatment possibilities and treatment strategy definition
3) identification/determination of area at risk in order to optimise treatment modalities and follow-up.
If you will need more information while doing the cases, you will have access to the online library that contains Learning Objectives (LO) on rectal cancer. Through the virtual class, you will work in an interactive way together with other participants and a number of tutors for a period of 3 months. The tutors will provide you with a task every week that you will have to execute in collaboration with a few other participants or with the whole class and the results of these tasks will be discussed weekly during an online web conference. At the end of the course, a web conference of 1-2 hours will be organised in which the experts (course faculty) will discuss with the participants and answer their questions.
We will accept max 20 participants for this virtual course and the rates for participating are:
- € 450 for ESTRO/ESMO/ESSO members
- € 600 for non-members
If you are interested, we suggest you register as soon as possible as the number of participants is very limited. You will find the registration form below; please email your registration to ESTRO at mpalmu@estro.org Participants to the course will be selected on a first come first serve basis
