Course aim
This 5-day course intends to deepen the knowledge of comprehensive treatment planning and the understanding of strategies to obtain optimal treatment plans for the patients. This implies a complex integration of clinical, imaging, biological and physical/technological knowledge, skills and competencies. This advanced course focuses on challengin scenarios related to the interaction of these issues with a specific focus on advanced adaptations of close distribution, with and without computer aided optimisation and modeeling, in particular in more complex cases. The student should obtain a comprehensive understanding of all parts of the planning process and plan evacuation and become able to increase the accuracy as well as the effectiveness in these procedures. The course consists of lectures, hands-on material treatment planning sessions and discussion sessions.
Target group
This 5-day and advanced hands-on training course on treatment planning. The couse is aimed primarily at staff involved in advanced treatment planning in daily routine. This applies to radiation therapy technologists but also physicists and radiation oncologists with clinical experience and basic understanding of the fundamental components of treatment planning with a wish to deepen their knowledge on both non-IMRT and IMRT planning techniques.
