Aims and Objectives

This intensive clinically-oriented educational programme has been designed to offer a unique learning experience and to provide practice-oriented training to radiotherapists and to clinical oncologists with knowledge in the field. The Masterclass offers plenary lectures focusing on the state-of-the-art treatments and it fully involves the participants (max. 50) with case presentations, research proposals and interactive discussion with the faculty.  

Ideal Masterclass Candidate

  • Age between 30 and 45 years 
  • Knowledge and at least 3 years’ experience in clinical radiation oncology or medical oncologists with basic knowledge in radiotherapy
  • Involvement in scientific activities
  • Fluency in English 

Application and Selection Procedure

Interested radiotherapists or clinical oncologists with knowledge in radiation therapy should fill in the application form (available at www.eso.net or at www.estro.org ) and provide:

  • Letter describing motivation for attending
  • CV with list of publications
  • Supporting letter from Head of Department or Mentor
  •  An abstract and a research proposal relating to one of the subjects of the Masterclass (head and neck, prostate, colorectal, lung cancers) 

The abstract (max. 1 page) should describe a clinical case in the form of a clinical grand-round. 

The research proposal (1 page) should not be a protocol but a description of an interesting future research perspective relating to one of the subjects of the Masterclass.
