ESTRO's teaching activities have grown significantly over the last two decades and in 2008 ESTRO held the inaugural meeting of ESRO – the ESTRO School of Radiotherapy and Oncology, created to provide a specific identity and structure for our educational programmes. This coincides with the launch of EAGLE, our e-learning programme that will enable a wider audience to benefit from our teaching activities.
ESRO teaching programmes cover the European core curriculum for radiation oncology. Participants come from all over the world and several thousand radiation oncologists, physicists, biologists and radiation technologists have already benefited from our wide ranging programmes and our excellent faculty of teaching staff. ESRO also provides an important network for tutors and course participants enabling them to stay in touch.
The opening ceremony took place in Gothenburg on 16 September 2008 during ESTRO27. View here some presentations
